Talk: Your World: Threads You Started

Um, hi again, I'm scared of you people (especially lorax, she's mean ;-> that was a joke) so I don't come here unless I want to ask for a pony.

I already got one pony, and I've never needed to use it..."Block This Member"...but whatthehell.

I post in a lot of groups, by my standards, and sometimes I want to go back to threads I've started in different groups. Presently I have squads of stuff starred, so that search is tedious; I won't even go into the size of the "Your Posts" choice.

Would it be a royal pain to introduce a "Threads You've Started" choice in the "Your World" bar? It would make my personal life easier, and I can imagine that of others as well.

I'll go away now. Please don't yell at me. I'm writing a novel in 30 days, and feel fragile.

I've really wanted "threads you started" too, to facilitate discussion, or just to check to see about open requests ....

I asked for this a couple years ago, as well as having some of the filters available in EACH group not just on the main talk page. Still would like it.

I think that's a great idea.

I'd love to have the filters available for individual groups.

Posts started would also be nice.

Yes I like the idea too. Especially for the challenge groups because I follow so many and wind up looking for them through many different threads. I hope that makes sense. :)

I can count the threads I've started on the fingers of one finger, but for you parents of multiple threads I can see where this would be something that is very good. Save time. Less frustration. Needs to be done.

Yea I wouldn't mind having this tool - although I haven't started that many threads *so far* i don't have a huge problem, but i can see things getting confused the longer I'm on here.

I want this too. Not quite as badly as I want subjects fixed, but I still think it would be useful.

Great idea! Not that I start that many threads, but I can see the use of it. You've got my vote, for what it's worth.

Would also be useful for finding threads you've started in Bug Collectors!

I would like to be able to follow my own ..:)

I think this is a brilliant idea because I'm always getting lost trying to find my own threads ... and then finding other more interesting threads in the process of looking for my own, which lead to more starring ... and then I remember I have to go look for my thread .... and finding more interesting threads ... and on and on ..... until I log off and remember I still haven't found some of my threads.

I don't start all that many threads, but I know there are some that I start and then eventually forget about. I'd love to be able to find those!

Yeah, what cameling said in #20 . . . (I didn't know anybody else got as lost in finding and starring, etc., as I do.)

Seriously, it sounds like a fine idea to me! I don't have that many threads that I've started, but it is still tedious trying to find them amidst the galaxies of threads that I've starred.

Cheli, I suspect Tim et alii are always watching *cue creepy music* this forum, and pounce upon some idea after a certain critical mass is achieved...or when something is proposed that instantly resonates with them...or just when they have time. Honestly, I don't know how so much gets done when there is so much more to do every day. Tim's in Charleston, SC, right now, pinch-hitting for Abby at a conference of librarians. (She got flu, poor lady, and she has an infant at home, and from my dim memories of having an infant back in the early 80s, that is one lousy way to be!)

So I'm just keeping up the posting, hoping the thread will attract more traffic and thus remain floating near the top of the punchbowl.

I am realizing how beneficial this would be as I keep starting threads for my challanges and the groups that I have joined. I know I have lost some of my threads for months and then all of a sudden I find them when either a new post appears I just happen to find them.

Also it would be awesome to have a "Groups" watchlist that was "Groups you've started". For administration purposes!

"Threads you've started*" on the left-hand-side under "Your World" is just such a good idea that it has to be done! Two Weeks!

When I joined, I misread Your starred to be Your started :) Took me a while to figure out what's going on (and never reported it as an error of course - was sure that I just overlook something).

Other from this - I always star the threads that I start so effectively I have a list :)
