I'm in the middle of The Titan's Curse and happened to start wondering if I knew of any songs that reminded me of Percy. It seems like there should be stuff on the tip of my tongue that reminds me of this series, but I can't think of anything.
So, in a broader sense, what songs can you all think of that are about mythological topics?

There are tons of operas based on mythology, including what is considered the first opera, Jacopo Peri's Dafne.
Consider Wagner's Ring Cycle, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Handel's Semele, Strauss' Elektra, Purcell's King Arthur, to name but a few.

I was thinking more of contemporary music. (Although I adore the mythological operas, Orfeo in particular.)

How about Philip Glass' Satyagraha or John Adams' A Flowering Tree? Mikis Theodorakis has written operas based on Greek myths.

Hah! funny this question should come up, the book I'm reading right now, Parzival, inspired Richard Wagner's opera "Parsifal".
The only other song I can think of at the moment is A Perfect Circle's song "Orestes"
Oh, and "The Flight of Icarus" by IronMaiden and "Icarus" by Hopesfall...hmmm, all Greek influence. Interesting.

You've gone and made me think about the band Styx and now I have an earworm of "Lady," which I probably haven't heard in 30 years.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Led Zeppelin's "No Quarters" about Norse mythology? I think Thor is mentioned in it.
