Is there a way to set a specific collection as the default collection that a user who is not logged in sees when they visit your catalog?
It looks like mine is defaulting to "Your library" but I would rather it default to "All collections."
I agree. At our church, we do not have anything in "Your library". Instead, books are arranged by subject into various collections. I would much prefer "All collection" being the default so that vistors are not confused when they visit out link and see "This collection is empty." Would love if LibraryThing gave us this option!
Did you know that a book can be put into more than one collection? So there's nothing preventing you from putting every book into Your Library and also into another distinct collection.
I know, but having "your library" instead of all books is kind of tacky when other people are using it. It's not their library, and for some, it can be confusing.
I don't use "Your library" at all. I just hate that. It's MY Library! Mine! But, I don't like "My library" either.
1 and 2, have yall tried setting unwanted collections to inactive? You can do that under Edit collections. I usually have all of the pre-progammed collections set to inactive. Warning, it does affect your checkmarks, but I can't remember how. I think all you get is gray ones if you don't put all your books in "Your library." I was sad at first, as I recall, but it is a tradeoff.
