AlbinoRhino gets a late start on 2010

Better late than never, right?

I just recently realized that I have 191 books in my TBR pile. Yikes. How did I accumulate that many books?! Needless to say, I need to get started on them asap.

My goal for this year is to whittle my TBR pile down to at least 175 books, so that is a goal of 16 books. Seems achievable!

To tackle:

1. Les Miserables
2. Vanity Fair
3. The Brothers Karamazov
4. The Boy Detective Fails
5. Haunted

The rest will be determined later...

Currently on page 176 of Les Mis with plans to be done in about six weeks, *fingers crossed*.

Welcome to the group! I admired your goal of sixteen in half a year...and then I saw your reading list. Now I really admire your goal! I hope you love Les Mis; I surely did!

Thanks, lbradf! I like Les Mis a lot so far; very moving. And yes, my list is a little daunting, but I am trying to make the most of my time off from school. :)

..."Yikes. How did I accumulate that many books?!"...

In reference to you statement I can offer this little tidbit;

from Carlos Maris Dominques "the house of paper"

"...the books are advancing silently, innocently through my house. There is no way I can stop them"

Welecome and good luck

Yes, definitely staying away from sales, especially yard sales and flea markets. Who can say no to a 25 cent book?!

Love the quote, usnmm2. :)

Update: Les Mis page 240. Plan to get a lot of reading done today since I am home recouping from dental torture yesterday.

Update: Les Mis page 542. Can't believe it's been over a month, and I've barely read 300 pages. Hugo just goes ON and ON sometimes, and after a while, it is hard to force myself to read when I am in one of those sections where he is going on and on.

I've never read Les Mis so I can only admire your fortitude and say, "Push on!"
