Hi I'm ((Sarah Barnard)) and I'm a fantasy writer. I'm also a mum and have 2 young children, 4 chickens and a guinea pig. Well, the guinea pig is really the kids but guess who ends up cleaning it out and remembering to feed it?
Hoping to get to know people better,

Hello Sarah,

I remember we had four guinea pigs. We went away for the weekend leaving a neighbour to look after them. On our return we had 21 guinea pigs.

Hi Sarah. Your name seems familiar; did/do you have a book up on Member Giveaway?

FYI: if you were trying to touchstone your author name, you need to use brackets; parentheses won't work.

What is a touchstone, and what does it do?

Edited: Aug 23, 2010, 7:03pm Top

That's how you link to books and authors in a LibraryThing message like this: Lazette Gifford. With a book, you use a single bracket around the name and for an author, you use two brackets on each side. Works wonderfully most of the time.

(It's explained on the right of my screen as I'm typing this. Doesn't that show up for you, too?)

Touchstones for works (books) are actually two-way -- they link from the thread to the work, but they also link from the work to the thread (see Conversations on a work page).
