Description: This library serves the Cumberland School of Law, the school's graduates, attorneys (with identification), and visiting scholars. Access to LEXIS, WESTLAW, and other subscription services is restricted to Samford faculty and currently enrolled students.

The library holds over 200,000 volumes including reporters, periodicals, loose-leaf materials, and treatises. The library’s microfiche collection contains congressional reports, the Federal Register, Code of Federal Regulations, Records and Briefs of the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Code 1924-1988, state attorneys general opinions, state session laws, and superseded state codes.

The Cumberland School of Law was founded in 1847 in Lebanon, Tennessee, and became one of the three largest American law schools by the Civil War, when Confederate troops burned down the school buildings. The school persevered, but lost ground to rivals in the 20th century. In 1961 Cumberland University sold the school to Howard College, which soon became Samford University.
