![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. Buzz Boy and Fly Guy are superheroes who went on an adventure to save their home. While trying to take their home back, they encounter situations with a dragon and pirates. This story would be great for early readers who are interested in comic books and it has chapters to help children become familiar with. Teachers could teach a lesson on consonant blends because there are many throughout the book such as dragon, fly, and skeletons. ( ![]() I love Fly Guy. Heck I just love about any Tedd Arnold book. This one is a graphic novel for beginning readers. In this one there are pirates, a dragon, and Fly Guy and Buzz are the same size. GR: J GL: 2.2 DRA: 16 Lexile: 380L The excitement is jam packed in Fly Guy's newest episode which features a comic book within the story. Buzz and Fly Guy are superheroes! The dynamic duo must battle a fiery dragon and a band of pirates. Will Fly Guy and Buzz Boy defeat their enemies and save their home? Find out in this ama-zzzing early chapter book. I liked this book because of the genera, writing, and illustrations. First, in the book, Buzz boy writes a story that he reads to Fly Guy. His story is presented in a comic strip form. Not only do I think that it is important to have text in your classroom that supports individuals writing their own stories but I also think it is important that students see that a story doesn’t have to be a long paper of text. Stories can be comics, picture books, or other fun and creative forms. Second, the writing used throughout the book is engaging. The action makes the writing engaging and keeps the readers attention. For example, as a reader you don’t know how Buzz boy or Fly Guy will get out of the cave or get their house home. Finally, the illustrations enhance the story. For example, there are captions and notes in the illustrations that include information such as why they turn the dragon around and shoot fire out, that isn’t explained through the text but the reader knows that they did it to scare the pirates off through looking at the illustration. The big idea of the book is that anyone is capable of writing a story and should be proud to share it with others, just like Buzz boy. no reviews | add a review
