This book contains not only the short story of about 57 pages, but also about 200 pages of analysis, commentary and background as to both Crane and his work. Likely far too detailed for most readers, nonetheless it provided excellent insight into the significance, motivations and meaning of the story. I now have a far greater appreciation for Crane as an author and the short story itself, which in my opinion is outstanding. ( ) no reviews | add a review
