Aanleiding tot dit boek is het project van de Stichting Gedenkklinker Borne. Deze stichting wil persoonlijke monumentjes oprichten voor alle Joodse inwoners van Borne die in de oorlog
weggevoerd en gedood werden, door gedenkklinkers te plaatsen in de stoep voor het voormalige woonhuis. Daarmee sluit men zich aan bij het Duitse Project Stolpersteine van de kunstenaar Gunter
Demnig.
