Summary:
This short little picture book is broken up into three short stories (like chapters) about Piggy Pie Po.
*Story one. Piggy Pie Po plays dress up. Every dress up outfit Piggy Pie Po puts on makes him use his wild imagination to become everything he can possibly dream of. When he likes to dance, he wears his party pants. When he goes swimming, he puts on his flippers. When he puts on his yellow coat, he imagines himself on a boat.
*Story two. Piggy Pie Po is extremely smart. He can do a ton of things such as play drums, paint art, count backward, and even spell big words like pistachio and pimpernel. The only thing Piggy Pie Po cannot do is tie his shoe.......... YET!
*Story three. Piggy Pie Po loves to eat. He eats a peach, plums, soup, and lemon pie. One thing he ate my mistake was a big, hot, red pepper.

Rhyme:
This book has a clear pattern of "A,B" rhyme scheme. Each page has one stanza on it.
Example....
page 5-> "When he wears his yellow coat,
page 6-> Piggy Pie Po likes to boat." ( )

This book incorporates three short, rhyming stories about a single character, Piggie Pie Po. The first story shows Piggie Pie in different outfits or costumes and the different activities he does while wearing them. The second one showcases Piggie Pie's many talents. Finally, the third story Piggie Pie has a feast, which ends rather badly when he eats a spicy pepper. ( )

This is a really engaging story that teaches the alphabet in a sing-song way. Students will love Piggy Pie Po and the ways the alphabet are introduced in this book. ( )

Summary: The story of a witch who flies to Old McDonald's farm to snatch up some fresh piggies for her special piggy pie. When she arrives at the farm, however, the pigs end up playing the biggest tricks on her.

Personal reflection: I enjoyed this book because of how easy it is to read to children out loud and keep them entertained. The story is also funny and captivating. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, which is why this book is a new one of my favorites because it would be perfect for fall.

Class Use: Have students create their own "Piggy Pie" recipes using whatever they would like as the ingredients. What spooky treats will their recipes make? Also text set for Halloween in the classroom.
