The pictures are colorful and captivating and the dog is loveable but this story just never really connected to me. The story tells of a family and their day's activities in the snow and how their dog helps them. Some of the words such as "frown" or "rescue" would be difficult for a young reader to decode due to the picture support that was lacking. ( )
