Josh Tambling gets a lot of things right. He is a top student, plays in a band, has a girlfriend and a dad who was a rugby league star. Living is comfortable with his parents and an energetic little sister. However, there is sadness at the heart of the Tambling family. Older brother Michael disappeared two years ago. He had fallen off the rails, almost died from his recklessness with alcohol. Now he talks only to Josh on the phone, only briefly, and won't give his whereabouts. The strain is unbearable.

School holiday work at the lost property office at the train station puts Josh in touch with other people's losses and unexpectedly provides a link to Michael, setting Josh on a quest to bring his brother back. Josh has an inquiring mind, a serious bent that eventually puts a strain on his relationship with his fun-loving girlfriend and attracts him to the more mature Gemma, girlfriend of another band member.

Josh travels to Queensland and finds his brother. He discovers that he is happily living with his girlfriend and expecting his first child. Eventually, the family is reunited. ( )

Josh is enjoying his job in the lost property office at Central Station in the Christmas holidays, when he finds a photo that has his missing brother Michael in the background. Although Josh has good friends, a pretty girlfriend, is lead singer of a band and has lots of money saved from his job, his missing brother causes a pain he can’t express and is threatening to destroy his family. It is time he did something about finding Michael, and the photo is his first clue. But things are not quite as they seem. A satisfying book about a young man who finds himself while looking for his brother. ( )
