This is the book you want for the recipes. It's chock full of them and all are easy to update and personalize for your use. This book is still relevant and still refer to it regularly, despite having had it for over 10 years.

It's got some bomb cookie recipes and the ones that are iffy are easy to fix up if you're decent at troubleshooting baking recipes.
