There were some lovely descriptions in here...I loved the account of the local fair, among other things. But this book didn't capture my attention the way I wanted it to. There was not enough about dance, for one thing. I hadn't read the preceding books in the series. Doing so might have helped my enjoyment a bit. ( )

An okay mystery about a ballet troupe spending the summer teaching at a dance camp. The ballet parts are more interesting than the murder parts, but I admire the book's frank acknowledgement of the number of gay men in ballet. ( )

Book description
Dancer Lindy Haggerty is a few pounds over her "fighting weight" for a pas de deux. Lindy accompanies the troupe to the Easton Arts Retreat, a prestigious summer academy for young artists in upstate New York that's celebrating its 50th anniversary with a gala performance by one of its best-known alumni. As rehearsal director, she's in trouble when a young dancer meets a less-than-graceful end.
