This one is a little more one-track than the others in the series, even by standards for the age group. Lessons on honor and being true to oneself are punctuated throughout the book, making for a nice, connective theme.

A side note: The entire series is written from the 2nd person narrative viewpoint, and includes plenty of action such as escaping from constant peril. All very appropriate for the targeted reader. I recently came across some short stories I wrote as a kid, and they are curiously similar in form to the Time Machine books. Coincidence? Not likely. ( )
