Very thorough overview of child nutrition in the beginning, even goes into details about breastfeeding and formula feeding. A little heavy for someone who might not already be convinced to make their own baby food, though. I think it would be a good resource for parents of 9 months and older children- how many instructions do you need to steam and puree fruits and veggies, really?

The main thing I disliked is that there are a few chapters devoted to feeding 4-6 month olds, when the AAP and most experts recommend waiting until 6 months or later to start solid foods. My copy was published in 2010 so I don't see why it wasn't updated to reflect those recommendations. ( )
