A look at Communism and post Communism in the Eastern Block countries using various animals to tell the story. The use of the animals gives the book a slightly fanciful fun feel but the subject is hardly such. In numerous cases the animal is an extended metaphor for the people. I found the book excellent for its balanced view, positive and negative for both political states. I learned some history along the way. ( )
