Told in flashback as a boy called Josh lies dying on the pavement from a stab wound. In 25 minutes, as his blood drains away, he goes over how he got into the mess he is in, why his older brother Gary went missing, his relationship with a shy girl from the neighbourhood called Skye and his friendship with the lonely Danny who must care for his disabled mother. This book looks at the knife culture that exists in the lower social classes in Britain and carries a lot of suspense. There are a lot of passages that could be read as "teasers" for class p.1,2 and 3 are excellent.
