When three mummies from ancient Egypt are transported to a museum, the truck crashes, most of the treasure is burnt, except a boy-mummie.
That mummy, later named Dummie, is alive, and runs to the bed of a boy(Goos). After a complicated acquaintance, they become friends. Goos and his father decide Dummie can live with them. They learn to know each other, and Goos and his father explain to Dummie how things work in the modern western world. Most problems begin when Dummie go to school with Goos, where nobody may know Dummie Is a Mummy. After many little daily schooladventures things develop the way they, and the readers, want.

The book is funny, hilarious, creative and has nice, and less nice, realistic characters and types. Imagine how you can live with a clever, child with a dry skin, that reeks, who can't get wet. Who can't live without his golden scarab, who is fond of buttons of electric gear, who reacts on infidelity with aggressive anger, but is very helpful and a nice playmate to a boy without siblings. I like it! ( )

Hilarious. Feels like reading a book by Roald Dahl or Paul van Loon. ( )

First words
Quotations
'Plofzak Drollemans!"riep Klaas. 'Bomkak Dinges!' riep Goos. Vliegensvlug lazen ze het artikel.
