Take into account that these were produced several decades ago and you will enjoy this series very much if you enjoyed the book. It is closer to the written work than the more modern movie. ( )

A boring Englishman is rescued from the destruction of the Earth.

They had some of the best comedy material ever written, and yet they still managed to make an awful show out of it. Probably the worst comedic timing I have ever seen.
