Personal Response:
The universal themes of broken family relationships, divorce, making new friends and adjusting to new family members and siblings makes it possible for people of all ages to connect with this book's characters and storyline. Individual thoughts and reflections are put together to form a complete story giving it read aloud potential. Ideal for children in mid primary school onward.

The use of pastiche along with references to werewolves, hunters, angels, wild animals, monsters, and Norse mythology made for a very insightful venture into the imaginative and emotional framework of a young boy transitioning from childhood into adulthood.

Programming Connections:
Excellent for programming dealing with family relations, divorce, making friends, new siblings. ( )
