This little souvenir booklet does a good job explaining the history of Lincoln Cathedral in a meaningful way for tourists. The author goes out of his way to make sure tourists understand that the building is not what makes a cathedral. A bishop's decision to set his work in a location is what achieves the status. The book also showcases the architecture. Although many photographs are in black and white, a common feature for the time the book was produced, it provided a means for tourists to revisit the building and remember some of the things a docent told them during the visit.
