It's short on characters and plot. I've read this author before and so I was prepared for the sex scenes but it will certainly be too graphic for many readers. Love the Venetian backdrop, but it's really about the sex, not even so much the vamp. Passable for its genre. Loved this novella by Tina! By kissing her-her, a respectable woman. Not only is Raphael di Santori grateful for his life being saved, he would also like to thank his rescuer very intimately-more intimately than decorum allows. Vampire Raphael di Santori thinks he’s died and gone to heaven, so he attempts to seduce the beautiful angel taking care of him, only to soon realize he’s still alive. Neither of them can deny the sizzling attraction between them, but then her late husband’s cousin discovers their affair and threatens to ruin her reputation.
Isabella and Raphael are great characters with an instant connection. I like how the story is set in early 1800s Venice—not a common year or location for many romance books—and I would like to know more about Raphael and his fellow vampires and more about their enemies, the Guardians.
This story is super hot with a lot of erotic scenes. Even though I normally like dirty talk in books, the hero called the heroine a “whore” far too many times, in my opinion. Still, those sex scenes were definitely my cup of tea.
The book ends with a HFN ending, but it’s easy to see the upcoming HEA.
