I liked it enough to try to read more of the series.
But it is convoluted and a bit hard to follow.
Inconsistences? Or just Twisty?
I did read the novella that was the beginning of the series and one or two more.
Unfortunately this series was NEVER completed.

Would be great if the author did a complete overhaul of the series and finished it out. I think I would go for it.
If I'm remembering correctly, and I'm pretty sure I am, there was some great Intimate Steamy scenes.
This is one of a few books that got me interested in this author.

Guess I'll never know why she didn't complete the series.

Sylvia Day does it again. She is truly becoming my favorite author of all time. I've read quite a few books about fallen angels and nephilim, and this book took almost completely different perspective to it. I loved it. It was sexy, romantic and full of action. I've always liked stories with strong female characters in them and this book doesn't disappoint. Lindsay Gibson is one of kind woman. Of course, you can never say no to angels. I've always been a sucker for angels and supernatural beings and Adrian is one hot angel. I truly wish there were true men like that in this world. Anyway, this book brought all my favorite supernaturals together and it couldn't get any better than this. Can't wait to read the book in the series. I truly recommend it to everybody out there who has discovered the sweet world of reading and books. It has saved me and my life many times. ( )

I kept feeling like I've read parts of this story before, I can't place it but it's similar to another book I've read. Cover art is pretty luscious

I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book when I started it (see sidenote below)... but I was determined to give it a shot as an ARC. Turns out, I really enjoying it! I felt like the origin/explanation of the angels, vamps, lycans, etc. could have been woven into the beginning of the story. I was not crazy about the dictionary at the front. I don't absorb the info/story when reading it in dictionary form, and its too hard to flip back to check the beginning when you are using an ereader.

I loved Adrian and Lindsay! Their relationship and interaction in the story made me smile. Adrian is a strong powerful male but he has a great sensitive spot... and Lindsay is a strong female lead with a great personality. I hope Sylvia Day continues with this couple through the series instead of switching couples for every book like some paranormal romances tend to do. I did feel that some of the statements/phrases in the love scenes were a bit cliche - but they were still steamy. I also really liked Elijah's character - strong silent and a bit broken. I was rooting for him throughout the book right along with Lindsay and Adrian. I think the story was complicated, dramatic and mysterious enough that it will make for a great series full of twists and turns. I will be looking forward to the future books to unravel the storyline and answer all the questions we were left with in this first book.

As a sidenote, I think that I was distracted a lot by the formatting - it simply is not yet formatted to read on a Kindle, so that detracted from the story a bit. I'm sure the publishers will get that ironed out before the release date. ( )

When I heard that Sylvia Day wrote a book about the world which I got acquainted with through her Marked series I had a huge SQUEE moment. Seriously, guys, I loved her Marked series and was very sad when Tor decided to discontinue them.

This review comes way too early as the book will only be published in the beginning of October, but I simply couldn't wait.

Having said all that, I was disappointed. The sex was hot (Sylvia does write it very well), certain characters were very intriguing but overall it felt like a messy rough plot. Too many loose ends, too many plot bunnies, it's all rushed and contradicting. It was driving me mad...

Vampires and Fallen are evil? Not, they are not evil and live their perfectly enjoyable life. Fallen are angels who mated with mortals and were stripped of their wings and forced to drink blood for sustenance. But here is Adrian who's been with every mortal woman with Shadoe's soul since the dawn of time, and he still has his wings?!

Adrian is indecisive and he proves to be a possessive hypocrite, - the qualities which DID NOT endear me to him. Lindsey is a bit better, but I wasn't sold on her as well, she didn't feel like a solid vivid character, although we were constantly told how good she was.

Lycans were interesting, so as Fallen Angels and even surrounding Adrian Sentinels. I guess it's just this particular couple which failed to draw me in.

The end left the door wide open to many possibilities and I kind of liked it.

Verdict: I would read the sequel, but the book didn't live up to its potential. It felt like pure paranormal romance instead of a balance between UF and PR I like.
So far, Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh is still my perfect angels book.
However, I think fans of Gena Showalter, J.R.Ward and Lara Adrian will like A Touch of Crimson much more than me :)
