This book is about a teacher who falls ill on a Sunday and can't return to work on Monday. Her students are faced with a substitute for a few days. As the days go by, more and more students are missing school like their teacher. Eventually, Miss Bindergarten returns to school, as well as all of her students. Unfortunately for the substitute, he's the one sick in bed now. ( )

This book is good for kindergarten students who are learning their alphabet. Throughout the story a letter of the alphabet is in bold so that the children can easily see it. The characters in the book are animals so while reading the book you could ask children about all the different types of animals in the book. This book could be read aloud in kindergarten but first graders should be able to read it by themselves. This is a very funny and interesting read.
