Op de hausse 'in Nostradamus'- arts en voorspeller uit de 16e eeuw - wordt voortreffelijk ingespeeld door de Amerikaan Hogue. Niet alleen geeft hij een historische inleiding en plaats hij de tekst van Nostradamus in de context van diens tijd (en van later), maar bovendien legt hij b.v. uit, dat Nostradamus de geestelijke leiders van de New Age al duidelijk voor ogen had, toen hij zijn 'Centuriën' schreef, evenals talloze andere historische gebeurtenissen. Omdat deze uitgave tevens zeer leuk is geïllustreerd, zal hij velen aanspreken en amuseren. Biedt hij ook wat wezenlijks? Nee, geloof ik. Daarvoor kan men beter bij Centurio's vertaling (met uitleg-Kosmos) of bij Prof. Houwens Post's tekst (zonder uitleg-Schors) terecht. Hogue's boek is zeker leuk, maar oppervlakkig en van de nodige blunders voorzien (p. 65 b.v.): Nostradamus en Robespierre waren geen tijdgenoten!
