This was a cute story about a little girl who wants to go to the zoo, but every time they plan to go something happens, whether it is the dog getting lost or the grandparents coming for a surprise visit. Finally, they are on their way to the zoo, but it starts raining. The whole time while it is raining, it never seems to start raining on the child's side of the car. Finally, it stops raining and they are able to go to the zoo. Personally, I love the aquarium and the zoo and I have since I was a little kid so I loved this story. ( )

I actually know Kate Feiffer really well! Totally an accident. I picked this book off the shelf without looking at anything more than the content. I have also met her father, Jules, the illustrator and had no idea that they ever teamed up for one of her books. This book is a great representation of what I think I was probably like as a child. I was very sure of myself and not about to change my intentions if I did not completely believe in the change. Learn by doing. Despite the repetitiveness of the book and the fact that the entire story is based within their drive to the zoo it is quite entertaining. The illustrations definitely lend themselves to the ridiculousness of this argument and the sweet relationship that this father has with his daughter. ( )

I did not understand why it was not raining on Sadie's side of the car and only on her dad's side. Sadie been waiting to go to the zoo with her dad forever and something always got in the way. I like how her dad had patience for her even when he told her it was raining and they could not go to the zoo anymore. He kept driving waiting for the rain to stop and finally Sadie agreed to go another day. When they turn around the rain stop and finally Sadie was able to go to the zoo. ( )

Sadie really, really wants to go to the zoo, but every visit to the zoo has been thwarted in the past. When it begins to rain, Sadie insists that it isn't raining - not on her side of the car. Will they get to see the giraffes after all? Cute, bright illustrations. ( )

Sadie has been wanting to go to the zoo with her dad since forever. Something always happens when they try to go. On a particular day they try to go it ends up raining on her dads side but not on her side. When they reach the zoo its still pouring, the head home. Half way home the rain goes away and they can finally go to the zoo. I loved the aspect the book came from having the dads side of the car and her side of the car. Reading the book kind of confused i didn't understand if the rain was suppose to be used as a metaphor. ( )
