This was a free Kindle D/L in 2012. It is part of the Cleopatra Jones Mystery series. Having not read the others ones, and not a real fan of the mystery, I was pleasantly surprised. It held my interest and there were a couple of red-herrings to keep me guessing. 211 pages ( )

I just finished reading On The Nickel. Toussaint has created a strong character here in Cleopatra Jones. The green eyed red headed accountant definitely has a cop's mindset, in her search for clues that will exonerate her mother in a murder investigation. Toussaint mixes in just the right amount of mystery, romance, and family stuff, to make this an extremely enjoyable read. I am looking forward to reading her first novel in this series. ( )
