It hit hard, like a blow to the skull, as a torrential flood of sensory input invaded her mind. Her head snapped back as if she had been physically struck, causing her instinctively to hold up her hands to ward off the attack. "What's happening to her?" she heard Picard demand, worry etched in his voice, but she could not respond to him. She could only fight for her own sanity.
