I was on my way to the register at the bookshop when I saw the cover of ROSE PETAL JAM. I'd never really thought about Polish cooking before but the cover was pretty enough that I grabbed it and added it to the pile of books. I'm glad I did. I was expecting a cookbook - some recipes, a few stories, some pretty pictures - but this is so much more.

Beata Zatorska tells the story of her return to Poland 20 years after she left by combining the local recipes her mother and grandmother taught her with stories of her childhood and gorgeous photographs of the Polish summer.

ROSE PETAL JAM was an education in Polish cooking and culture.
