![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. For a debut novel, not bad. A little too cutesy at times... ( ![]() my rate is inbetween 2 and 3 stars don't get me wrong, I liked it but there were things that didn't sit well for me. Mostly I found quite unbelievable such a love/devotion after 2 brief encounters and then I really didn't like how Sadie's mom acted or how her depression was resolved: " Jessica is getting help. She is sick, Sadie. It is called postpartum depression, and she has a very bad case. She is at the best clinic money can buy, and when she comes back to you, she will be just like new. I swear it." really?!?! Are you serious ?!??? Marcus was my favorite character, it's a pity Sadie didn't choose him ... Well I hope he gets an even better girl in his book ;) This was short and sweet. I keep reading these books where kids have terrible parents and it kills me. How someone could be so irresponsible and dump all the adult worries on a teenager is beyond me. Sadie was so strong and took on so much to help her mom pay bills and get ready for the baby. I liked that she wasn't star struck by Jax and treated him like a regular guy. Jax clearly didn't know how to be sensitive to Sadie's feelings. She's never had a boyfriend, especially a famous one so of course she was insecure when she saw him out with other girls. Of course this book is a happy ending, so that made me smile. The narrators did a good job on the audiobook and I will be reading book 2 :) So I did this backwards, I read book 2 “Because of Low” first. I LOVED that book. This one did not disappoint. I really enjoyed learning more about Sadie because I liked her in book 2. I really enjoyed seeing some of Marcus too (he is great). I knew Sadie and Jax were together it was good to see how they came to be. Jax is such a great boyfriend, not as good as Marcus if you ask me :) I actually started this series from book four, [b:Just for Now|16116392|Just for Now (Sea Breeze, #4)|Abbi Glines|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356512856s/16116392.jpg|21491232]. I read an expert from it not realizing it wasn't a first book and fell in love with the story and rushed to download it to my Kindle. I've never not started a series from book one. Before I was even finished I knew I had to read the series. Breathe was a sweet love story that I enjoyed immensely. I was also lucky to grab a re-release with Jax' POV, I always love hearing the guys feelings and thoughts. It makes the story even more juicier. I really liked Sadie and Jax as characters and instantly bonded with them. I could feel and believe their excitement and fears about each other and what a relationship between them would mean. Basically it's as the synopsis says: Sadie is raising her mom and Jax is a teen idol rock star who is feeling suffocated by his fame and the fakeness of it all, but when Sadie appears in his life he can finally breathe. It's a cute little love story that will make you swoon. *sigh* no reviews | add a review
