* Folks interested in the procedures used at Nike Ajax (mostly) and Nike Hercules sites.
* Folks interested in the physical specifics of the Fort Barry site (I fit this group).
The actual target audience seems to be the staff and leadership of the Golden Gate National Park. I'm sure they find it a useful reference.
There's lots of good stuff, here, much of it in direct quotations from four folks who were stationed on the site. But some of the discussion raises questions of context--in particular, I wanted to know more about command structures, communications protocols, and suchlike. I spent a year stationed at two neighboring posts (Fort Baker and Mill Valley AFS), which were somehow both in the command structure of FS-88; both are mentioned, but not in ways that show the relationships. At the time I really didn't care, and as a teletype operator was only slightly involved; now I want a clearer picture.
Still, it's a good book. Worth your time if you're at all interested in Fort Barry, or the Nike AAA program. (
