2022 movie #80. 1993. Archer (Day-Lewis), from a rich NYC family in the 1870s is engaged to May (Ryder) also from a rich family. Then May's cousin, Ellen (Pfeiffer) arrives and changes Archer's life. Great story and good characters. Didn't turn out as I expected. ( )

Substance: Slow-moving train-wreck for fickle fiancé.
Style: Lush and lovely to look at, but slow (probably stays too close to the novel, which I have not read). ( )
