I honestly just really love this series, the way every single member of the crew has its own spot in my heart rn- this is a nostalgic series for me because I’ve loved it for a long time but that doesn’t make it any less good. The storyline is pretty fast paced and there’s almost always something happening. It’s also really building up to actually finding Zavac. Can’t wait to read the next one tbh. ( )

Another solid entry of storytelling by Flanagan, and more excellent reading by John Keating (if you listen to the audiobooks).
Hal, Stig, Thorn, and the Herons are enjoyable to spend time with, and Hal's clever plans are impressive to behold.
I look forward to following the crew on the rest of this and future adventures. ( )

This series is fantastic so far! I love the characters and we finally got a strong female lead for the story! She reminds me a lot of Alyss. I just wish that there were some more strong ladies in these books. However, I am excited to see what John has in store for the Herons on their quest. I also really enjoy the fact that this book uses so much nautical terminology. It is so well done. ( )

Okay, book 1 was a bit harder to get into. I really didn't think I would like the pseudo vikings, or Skandians, because of history readings I've done. I took quite a while to get into it. Not so this book. Although there are subtle review of what has happened, it jumps right in to action and I wasn't disappointed. I even liked the lead into to the future books with the introduction of what might be a love triangle later on. I'll just have to keep reading and see! ( )
