This book is great for beginning bookbinders and is a useful addition for experienced binders. Peter Baumgartner is most generous in ensuring, through text, photographs, and precise measurements. that you cannot get the project wrong. His photo album works a treat everytime. He has also enhanced the bookbinding experience by putting some of the book's projects on youtube. ( )

This gorgeous book, originally published in 1994 in German, as: "Buecher, Alben, Schachteln selbermachen" by the Falken Verlag. The book is supposed to give basic techniques but is actually more of a display of handmade books and boxes as objects of beauty. [mebt/2006@Posners,Tucson]
