The author, the editor of a mining journal, interviewed then-prominent mining engineers about their lives and their jobs. He asked good questions and got interesting answers. But this is really only a book for readers really interested in the topic.

The Google scan was no help. It clearly lost some pertinent formatting, doesn't recognize the book's chapter divisions, seems to be missing an occasional chunk of text, and is otherwise problematical. ( )
