"...a well-told story and any of the three main characters could be its hero. That is a major accomplishment for a first-time novelist. Add to that the humor and the gift for language, and DeSio is a writer to watch in years to come."

To you, my readers, who have overcome varying degrees of
bad parenting.
Thanks to my brother, Richard, for…being my brother, to
Eli for sharing his unique story of growing up in Bulgaria,
and to my friend and writing partner, Dianne Post, whose
editorial feedback and flawless comma placement was invaluable.
More thanks to my daughter, Lisa, who read the
unedited version of Rose’s Will — on her phone, and to my
son, Eric the Motivator, who refused to read the book until
it was published. Finally, a special thank you to my life
partner, Carol the World Walker, who braves the corporate
world every day so I don’t have to.

Book description
Rose’s Will is an in depth study of three people who have a relationship with Rose D’Orsi, an awful Italian woman from Brooklyn. Rose’s daughter, Glory, has severed the relationship with her abusive mother, but still waits for a sign that Rose has changed; Ricky, her easily manipulated brother, leads a tortured existence pandering to Rose while raising a family and trying to make ends meet in a blue-collar job; Eli, a wise, compassionate Holocaust survivor with a philosophical bent, is the only one who connects with Rose by giving her what she steadfastly denies her children – unconditional love. Their lives converge at Rose’s funeral, which sets off a series of events that bring them closer and closer to disaster.
