This wasn't what I was actually looking for. I was hoping to find a book looking at how fairy tales can alter our perceptions and expectations for relationships. This more of a self help sort of book. I also dislike the author's tone. It really struck the wrong cord with me. ( )

When the Fairy Tale Fails is an eye-opener for women of all ages seeking fulfillment within themselves and longing to create complete satisfaction in their lives. Utilizing in-depth research and real-life experience, Susan Indenbaum gives readers workable strategies to awaken their goals and passions and lead them to purposeful lives. Indenbaum details how to make room for dreams, faith, and especially supportive and loving female friends. Those who have dreamed of a Prince Charming rescue only to be disappointed can learn how to break the destructive cycle that male dependency can bring and discover the inner power within their mind and soul. This book shows how women can uncover their own potential, create a new and exciting life, and make their own "happy ever after" — leaving the fairy talk of the dissatisfied princess behind.
