Part climbing guide, part history, but mostly a tribute to the under appreciated climbing powerhouse from the Pacific Northwest, Fred Beckey. These are NOT easy routes, but Beckey has climbed them all, with first ascents (or first routes) on many of them. He is the original hard man. if only the quality of the photo reproduction was a little higher, then it would make a classic coffee table book. Probably only of interest to hard core alpine mountaineers and climbing historians. ( )
