It started out interestingly. The woman seemed like she would be really naive. She was an older woman that had an adventure with a paranormal creature and she goes back to where it happened, ever year, to see if he will come back. In the beginning she totally acted like she had no idea what was going on, but as the short novella continues- she totally knows. About almost everything. Dumb. Then why was she all confused at the beginning? Made no sense to me. The selkie was interesting. A good character if a little self righteous. The bad guys were so overdone. And the woman all of a sudden was super mom. You'll see if you read it. But basically I spent a good portion of the book going... What? and then laughing. Perhaps I am a snob when it comes to paranormal as I read SO many but the world building did not work out for this author. Maybe if the story was expanded and things were embellished and others were straightened out this would be a lot better. But as of right now, I'm still saying... What? ( )
