This particular volumes contains four short stories, each of which involve a different leading man. Three of the stories are ones that I'd read in other volumes.

The Singing Citadel - Elric meets Queen Yishana, defeats the Jester Demi-god Balo and gains the eternal enmity of Theleb-K'aarna.

Master of Chaos - Earl Aubec does battle with Chaos creating the realms of the Eastern Kingdoms as he claims territory in the name of Malador.

To Rescue Tanelorn... Rackhir the Red Archer goes in search of the Grey Lords to find aid to save Talelorn from Narjhan and his armies.

The Greater Conqueror - This is the only one that was new to me when I read it. In this story, Simon of Byzantium finds himself pitted against Alexander the Great who is possessed by Ahriman an evil god of Mesopotamia. Only with the help of the Magi and his skill with the sword is Simon able to defeat Alexander, ending Ahriman's threat and beginning the dissolution of Alexander's great empire. ( )
