This is a simple book explaining the little things that mothers are best at. This would be a good book to do a guided reading with around mothers day, since it could feed into many other activities for the students to do. Since it would feed into other activities, it would give the students more motivation to participate, which is always helpful in the classroom. I would use this book in the lower grade levels simply because I believe the older kids would say or think that they are too cool for it, and not be interested. ( )

This modern fantasy book is about what mommies do best. The book has many different children animals and mommy animals that do activities together to explain and show what mommies do best. ( )

Summary:
This book emphasizes the importance of what mothers do, by utilizing animals in the place of humans. It is a book for very young children. Throughout the book it talks about the important things that mothers do for their children and why these things are so helpful.

Personal Reaction:
I felt like this book would be a good book to read to children around mothers day if you had a younger classroom such as pre-kindergarten. Young children would be able to depict what the pictures were telling them without actually having to read the words. I thought the pictures blended well together, but it would become boring quickly for older readers.
I appreciated the books good reaction towards mothers though.

Classroom Extension:
1) We could paint pictures of what we think our parents do best and expand on the idea of what a parents does past this book.
2)We could use the book to think of what all we are thankful for that our parents do for us and right cards for that parent, especially around mother or fathers day. ( )
