No current Talk conversations about this book. 3.5 stars I liked the mystery plotline and the political plotline but was very unimpressed with the romantic plotline. The first two were interesting and unpredicted. The romance was frustrating. Ethan went back to old and very irritating behaviors for reasons that weren't big enough to warrant it and I did not approve of his treatment of Merit for at least 1/3 of the book or the overlooking of that behavior when it is resolved. I thought we were finally moving past this kind of behavior based on the previous book and was very disappointed to return to it. However, the overall series has been good and I am hoping this turns out to be a mere hiccup in the overarching story. I like this series but I do not love it. I have given it 4 stars but its really more of a 3.5 in my opinion. I have continued to read this story because I am just enough interested with the story to want ot know how it ends. Basically everything about this is just alright for me the characters are good not great, the story is fairly interesting and the writing is decent. It is in no way bad but it is not one of my favorites either. what a great way to start close out one chapter of the series and start another. in this book Ethan continues on with his challenge against Darius for the head of the GF. while this is going on, more continues to happen that pushes Merit and Ethan to the limits, pushing their relationship, to the brink once agin, while also dealing with a serial killer. no reviews | add a review
