King has gotten better at writing shorter books, though that is not necessarily desirable. This, like Later, another of his works is short (and even shorter than the other one), and yet keeps you very engaged. The plot is good, definitely better than Under the Dome, and is a great listen, with a wholesome plot. ( )

Ho scoperto un King nuovo, diverso ma sempre capace di trascinarti nel suo mondo, in un luna park che tanto poteva offrire al re dell’horror ma che ha usato come scenario per una storia malinconica, dolce e triste, terribile come la vita. ( )

First book to make me cry at the end. A really wonderful story. ( )

This felt like the King version of a cosy mystery. I rather liked it. ( )

almost a short story by King standards but this was a fun little tale. not a lot of characters, not a complex scenario, but entertaining nonetheless. ( )

I had a car, but on most days in that fall of 1973 I walked to Joyland from Mrs. Shoplaw's Beachside Accommodations in the town of Heaven's Bay.
