"Miss Sally Ann and the Panther" is a tall tale about Davy Crockett's fictional sweetheart, Miss Sally Ann. Sally Ann is a modern day wonder woman who is not afraid of anything and is very hard-working. When she crosses paths with a giant panther, a fight over fur that lasts all night turns into a great friendship. I think children will get caught in the excitement of this book and enjoy the beautiful illustrations. I think kids will get the meaning of hard-work from this book and see how Sally Ann doesn't let anything get in her way and how courageous she is. This is Bobbi Miller's second story about Sally Ann, the first one being about Sally Ann and Davy Crockett getting married. I definitely want to read that tall tale as well because I loved this book and enjoyed the humor and excitement he included in this book. ( )

This book is about miss sally and how she took care of her panther. Then later on in the book, the panther becomes miss sally's own pet. The pictures in this book are very detailed. ( )

The two fight to a draw and instantly become friends. That's kind of it. ( )

A lively, fanciful tall tale featuring Davy Crockett's sweetheart and a panther she tames. Somewhat reminiscent of Anne Isaacs's Swamp Angel. ( )

Don't miss Bobbi Miller's newest folktale! You'll love reading it out loud just for the sound of the "ripsnorting" words! ( )

This is "a folktale full of fun, rumble-tumble, read-aloud words."

Miss Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind was a woman of wonder. She could rope a hurricane, outspin a steam mill, and blow out the moonlight in a single breath. But her finest adventure was wrestling Fireeyes, a mean-as-tarnation panther whose eyes glared fire. Both fall in love with each other's coats at first sight, and lickity-split begin fighting. They raise such a racket that the moon dips onto its side and the Milky Way curdles. But neither one backs down, backs up, or backs out...until, finally, each wins the other's respect, and the two become great and glorious friends.

(retrieved from Amazon Thu, 12 Mar 2015 18:20:35 -0400)

Miss Sally Ann Thunder Ann Whirlwind and Fireyes the panther engage in an epic wrestling match before becoming "great and glorious" friends.
