THE HIGHLANDER’S REWARD is book one in The Stolen Brides Series. The story takes place in 1297, beginning in Northern England and ending in the Highlands of Scotland. Dunrobin Castle to be exact.

THE HIGHLANDER’S REWARD is an amazing novel that begs to be read in a day. I originally read this novel a few years ago and it put Eliza Knight on my radar. I think I’ve read every one since. (My original read was an overdrive library loan.)

I love the characters. Lady Arbella is strong willed, feisty and loyal without being annoying. Magnus is honorable, passionate and overwhelmingly handsome. Together they are a force to be reckoned with.

The story is fast paced, steamy with bits of humor. It also has a good amount of historical detail, which only adds to the story. Love the William Wallace appearances! On to the next in this awesome series…

I was given a copy of this book for review on Celtic Dragon Book Reviews for my honest opinion.

Honestly, this is just getting 4 stars because of the bizarre cameo by William Wallace. Otherwise, a solid 3 star pretty typical romance novel. All the normal problems of a non-offensive romance novel, none of the amazing qualities of one that burrows into my soul with all the feelings.

But seriously. William Wallace, YES THAT WILLIAM WALLACE, shows up 3 different times just to ... chill out in the background as a totally normal minor character. Amazing. ( )
