Psychologist, heal thyself! Rachel Katz is a forensic psychologist who works at the intersection of law and psychology. She has almost convinced herself that this is easier than being a therapist. It's less complicated, with no messy emotions, no crisis, and nothing unexpected. Rachel's safe, predictable existence is shaken up by an invitation to conduct a psychological autopsy on a colleague, Alix Price. Even though Rachel and Alix had frequently been in conflict, Rachel accepts the job against her better judgement. Rachel attempts to use the investigation to avoid her attraction to the charms of Anna Sigurdson. Will Anna's persistence and patience get her past Rachel's fears of a broken heart?… (more)

Good read, fast paced. I really liked Rachel Katz - warm, caring, intelligent. Would love to follow her next investigation. I hope Anna is woman enough for her. So far she seemed okay.

The story line was sorta predictable. Of course Alix Price was a child abuse/incest survivor, she was too much on the negative side. What we saw of Alix showed a strong woman and won't have taken her life unless helped along, as we see.

Thanks for not killing Mr. Piggy.

Questions for all those psychologists out there - how do you handle meeting former patients? I, of course, have had my time on the couch and know it would depend on the situation. I would hope after sharing so much with an individual, trusting them with your sole, that if you happened to see them at the bank, you could say hi and not totally ignore them. ( )
