It isn't great literature but it delivers perfectly for a summer beach read or an anytime book that just allows you to turn off your brain and escape to someplace fun. ( ) This was an interesting book to say the least. This is a story told from two different POVs and it felt more like there were two plots instead of just one main plot. Yet it worked because it was so funny. The lengths that Fliss went to in order to insure NOTHING went right on her sister's honeymoon (resulting in the marriage not being consummated) was over the top. If she had been my sister, I would have throttled her regardless of consequences. I get that she thought she was doing what was right. However, the end result does not justify the means. While people do quicky marriages all the time, as proof of this just think about Las Vegas, I doubt you have anything happen like was described in this story. Of course it is fiction, though not very realistic, it made for some side-splitting humor. Total fluff but if you need a good laugh this is just what the doctor ordered. This was another fun romantic comedy, this time told from the perspectives of two very different sisters. Fliss, the older sibling, has kind of acted as a mother figure to Lottie for years. She's going through a messy divorce which turns into another comic point despite being so draining and depressing for her. So when she sees her sister heading towards quick marriage and possible divorce, she tries her best to stop it. To my surprise, this book wasn't at all predictable. At no point was I certain how Lottie's love life was going to work out. I enjoyed her revisiting scenes that were prominent to her when she was younger. My favourite characters were the predictable ones--Fliss and Lorcan, Ben's best man, had a very tense hate/lust relationship that amused me. The extents that Fliss goes to in order to keep Lottie's marriage from being consummated shaking my head with pure amusement. Fliss's seven-year-old son Noah also provides some comedy. My favourite moment was when he collected the key cards of a bunch of hotel guests as he wanted credit cards for his new wallet, leaving Fliss to figure out who twenty identical cards belong to. Him talking about putting the "sausage in the cupcake" was also entertaining. This was my second Kinsella book, and it did not disappoint. Though there was less depth to this one, I enjoyed it immensely and I'm excited for more. no reviews | add a review
