Manfred Baumann is doubtless one of the most interesting photographers working today. Consciously aware of such role models as Helmut Newton and Alfred Eisenstaedt, he boldly embraces unknown and often unusual visual ideas, and is not afraid to let his imagination run wild. Manfred Baumann was born in 1968 in Vienna, and grew up in a close family. While still a child, he became well acquainted with photography, due in no small part to the influence of his grandfather, who was a working photographer. He gave him his first camera, a Praktika. When he was 21, he turned professional and his photographic career started. Today Manfred Baumann's photographs are displayed in prestigious galleries all over the world. His photographs can also be found in photo magazines and not least in the industry’s own publications such as calendars and books on a range of technical topics.… (more)
