Book description
The Broadman Bible Commentary series has as its mission "to help men know the truth of God as it is revealed in his Word, that they may feel the heartbeat of His message in their lives in the modern-day world." Each volume of the series is based upon the conviction that the Bible is a unique and inspired revelation from God and a guidance to Christian faith and practice. Drawing upon the resources of historical and contemporary research coupled with Biblical scholarship, it is marked by a strong emphasis upon the redemptive message of the Scriptures and upon the relevance of Bible teaching to the issues and concerns of modern life. It outlines each Bible book with a paragraph-by-paragraph interpretation and exposition of the text. Included are introductory materials to each Bible book dealing with questions of purpose, date, authorship and setting. Purposeful balance is maintained throughout between exegesis and exposition. Writers have been selected on the basis of their maturity in faith and qualifications in scholarship. All are men recognized as trusted leaders and Biblical scholars throughout the Christian community.
